Dr. Donald E. Gerlock

Dr. Donald E. Gerlock Jr., 62, passed away 4/18/14 at home. Born and raised in Valdosta, GA to the late Dr. Donald and Josephine Gerlock. He served 3 years in the Naval Air Reserve Training Unit. In 1976, he graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa. After completing his education he started in private practice in Valdosta, GA, then later relocated his practice to Key Largo, FL where he remained and practiced for over 20 years. After retiring in 2004, he returned to his Alma Mater, in Daytona Beach, FL to teach the profession he loved the MOST.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy Anderson Gerlock, of Homestead, FL., his son Donald Emory Gerlock III, of Tallahassee, FL; his former wife Erin McKenzie of Quitman, GA; a sister, Bonnie Gerlock Murjada of Watkinsville, GA.; a brother Dr. Gregory Gerlock of Jonesborough, TN., and several nieces and nephews. His caring nature and compassionate heart made this world a much brighter place to all his patients, family and friends.
Church services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Valdosta, GA. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to Gerlock Dance Studio 3338L Country Club Road PMB 203 Valdosta, GA 31605 in memory of his mother who opened the studio 62 years ago, and still remains open and run by family.
