Dorsey D. Gordon

Dorsey D. Gordon, 82, of Valdosta, died on Monday, May 25, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born November 12, 1926, in Colquitt County, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Roscoe, Sr., and Leila Margaret Taylor Gordon. Mr. Gordon was a Real Estate Appraiser. He was a Marine Veteran of WWII, a member and Deacon of Northside Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and he loved to play golf.

Survivors are his wife, Fay C. Gordon of Valdosta; his children and their spouses, Fayne D. and Kathy Gordon of Valdosta, David R. and Alicia Gordon of Bainbridge, Julie G. and John Spooner of Destin, Florida; grandchildren, Devoney (Trae) Kent, Lori (Nick) Tomlinson of Valdosta, Josh (Tesha) Gordon of Villa Rica, Jada Gordon of Ponte Vedra, Florida, Kelsey Gordon, Shelby Gordon of Bainbridge, Celesta Pollock, Jarod Fulford of Donalsonville, Crystal Spooner of Niceville, Florida; eight great grandchildren; brothers, James Elwood (Cecile) Gordon of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Donnie Gordon of Titusville, Florida, Sidney (Glenda) Gordon of Madison, Florida; sister, Patricia Morgan of Marietta; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Roscoe �Larry� Gordon, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Reverend Bob Willis and Reverend Mike Fountain will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
