Dorothy Ricks Crumley, 73, of Valdosta, died on Friday, November 6, 2020 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born in Anniston, Alabama on October 4, 1947 to the late William and Rilla Maye Fowler Ricks. Dorothy was a graduate of the Grady Nursing School in Atlanta and served in the nursing field for 35 years. She was working with Dr. Gordon Bunker as a Registered Nurse at the time of her retirement. Mrs. Crumley was a member of the Lake Park Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd E. Crumley of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lloyd A. and Felicia Crumley of Valdosta, and Timothy White of New Jersey; a daughter, Teona Gumm of Kentucky; grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Deanna Ehling, Nathan and Arlene Ehling, Jonathan Ehling, Joseph Gumm, Lori Harrell, Aubree Crumely, Gracee Crumley, Lucy Gumm; her siblings and their spouses, Douglas and Marcia Ricks, Donald Ricks, Doris Ricks-Lankford, and Marilyn Gael Ricks; her mother-in-law, Reba Crumley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and LaVern Crumely; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tena and Don Dickson, and Jena and Rev. Keith Sandlin; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Ehling; her step-mother, Josie Padgette Ricks; brother, James Ricks; sister, Lynn Ricks Hart, and her father-in-law, L.A. Crumley.
Services for Dorothy Ricks Crumley will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Lake Park Church of God with Rev. Keith Sandlin and Rev. Buck Crumley officiating. The burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
