Dorothy Hall Meeks, 84, of Valdosta died peacefully Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home. She was born was born in Hahira on September 18, 1930 to the late Colonel Joe and Madalyn Fiveash Hall and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Mrs. Meeks was a member of the St. Augustine Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, her church family, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include her sons and daughter in law, Benjie and Betty Jo Meeks of Ray City, Demery Meeks of Lake Harding, Ala. and Greg Meeks of Valdosta, three grandchildren, Hope Meeks, Joseph Meeks and Blake Meeks all of Valdosta, two sisters, Joy Beth Weeks and Jan Sumner both of Valdosta, two brothers and two sisters in law, Terry and Dot Hall of Hahira, Randy Hall of Morven and Blanche Hall of Hahira; brothers in law and sisters in law, Frank and Lila Meeks of Macon, Mable Meeks of Macclenny, FL, Frances and Joe Lynch of Eden, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman B. Meeks, her brother, Ralph Hall and brothers in law, Bill Weeks, Walt Wright, Paul Sumner, Milton Meeks, Raymond Meeks and Mack Meeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Deland Guthrie officiating.
