Dorothy Greene

Dorothy Beryl Reeves Greene was born September 4th, 1939, in Apalachicola, FL, and then moved to Valdosta in 1954. She graduated from Valdosta High School in 1957 and married Bobby Eugene Greene on April 12, 1959. Together, along with their son Alec Greene, they formed Greene Supply Company in 1981 where Dorothy worked as the bookkeeper and office manager until her retirement in 2018. She was a faithful member of Central Avenue Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents George Carl Reeves and Annie Merle Lewis Reeves, sisters Helen Reeves Thomas and Sandra Reeves Hubman and her brother George Carl Reeves, Jr. She is survived by husband Bobby Eugene Greene, her three children Robert Alec Greene (Anita), Cheri Greene Tillman (Hamilton) and Tina Greene Brooks (Marvin) all of Valdosta, GA, and sisters Juanita Reeves Buckholts and Joyce Reeves Hilliard-Mazzeo. Dorothy was most proud of and known for the love of her five grandchildren: Bradley Brooks (Lauren) of Savannah, GA, Bowen Brooks (Cassandra) of Valdosta GA, Stephanie Fandel (Mitch) of Jacksonville, FL, Scott Greene (Emilee Morris fiancée) and Reeves Tillman of Denver, Co. In addition, she has four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Greene will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Avenue Children's Ministry Central Avenue Church of Christ, 304 East Central Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31601.
