Dorothy Elizabeth Pinholster Belote

Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Pinholster Belote, 82, died in her sleep on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at her home in Macon. Mrs. Belote was born in Lowndes County, Georgia, September 22, 1925. She was preceded in death by her mother; Elizabeth Parker Pinholster, her father, James Henry Pinholster, her former husband, W. F. Belote, her brothers, Cecil Pinholster, Dan Pinholster, Wade Pinholster, Charlie Pinholster, Parker Pinholster and Hubert Pinholster and her sister, Mrs. Bertha Mae Rowland.

Survivors include her daughter, Billie Belote Pitts (J.C. Jr.) of Dublin, her sons, Mike Belote (Connie) of Dublin, Reggie Belote (Joann) of Mobile, Alabama and Victor Belote of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Garland Pinholster (Darsa) of Ball Ground, Georgia; grandchildren, Michael Belote, Molly Gay, Kimberly Worthman, Brannen Belote, Cameron Belote, Joanna Belote, Mari Beth Belote, Stephanie Hensley, Suzette Reeves, Angie Biles and John Pitts, III, eighteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The Belotes moved to Dublin in 1948 where they reared their family. Mrs. Belote was a member of Henry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Dublin Service League, Moore Street PTA, and was actively involved in all the functions her children were a part of. She had many close and lasting friendships from her years in Dublin. In later years, Mrs. Belote lived in St. Simons Island, Ponte Vedro, Florida, and most recently at Carlyle Place in Macon.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery on North Oak Street, Valdosta, Georgia. Carson McLane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held in Dublin at a later date.
