Doris Montine Lavender

September 8, 1937 — January 24, 2021

Doris “Montine” Lavender, of Valdosta, 83, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation in Leesburg. Born in Morven, Georgia, on September 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Annie Laurie Mashburn Parker. Montine taught and worked with the infants at KinderCare Daycare. She loved her Lord and Savior and was an active member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Montine loved celebrating her favorite holiday, Christmas.
Survivors are her daughter, Deborah (Shane) Tucker of Leesburg, a son, Gene (Leisha) Lavender of Tifton; grandchildren, Robert (Katherine Lee) Lavender, Melissa Griffin of Americus, Kayla (Wayne) Baltzell of Leesburg, Ashley Reaves of Bluffton, South Carolina, Michael (Sommer) Reaves of Hahira, Jason K. Tucker, Skylor (Jessi) Tucker of Leesburg; brother, Robert (Jeanette) Parker of Morven. Montine was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Lloyd Kenneth Lavender.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Campground Cemetery near Morven. Pastor Danny Edwards will officiate. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to Bemiss Road Baptist Church. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
