Doris Maxine Lott

Doris Maxine Coody Lott, 91 years young, passed away on December 12, 2017, surrounded by family and loved ones at home, in Auburndale, Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Kissimmee, Florida, and spent the last 9 months of her life at her new home in Auburndale. Doris, “Mom, Ma, Boss, Granny, and Aunt Dot”, was born in Valdosta, Georgia to William Frank and Ella Mae Adam Coody on March 28, 1926. She married Hoyt Thomas Lott on October 24, 1940 in Valdosta. Doris worked many years as a laundry assistant for a major motel before having to leave her job to care for her loving husband Hoyt. She was of the Baptist faith.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Thomas Lott; daughter, Della Ruth Lott Petrey (deceased, Pete Petrey); daughter, Linda Carolyn Lott Suffield (deceased, John Suffield); and son, Joel Dan Lott (surviving, Mary Beyers Lott). She is survived by son, Harold Thomas Lott (Jeanette Carter Lott); son, David Joyce Lott (Leiann Tyner Lott); son, Allen Glenn Lott; and daughter Jewel Ann Lott Bright (deceased, Babe Bright); 21 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm followed by a service Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Carson McLane, Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson St. Valdosta Ga. with burial to be completed at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 4536 Mt. Zion Rd. Valdosta, GA, officiated by Reverend Mac Weaver.
