Doris Jean Walls Brooker

Doris Jean Walls Brooker, 71, of Quitman died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at South GA Medical Center. She was born on May 14, 1943 in West Palm Beach, FL to the late Eddie B. Walls, Sr. and Mamie Cleo Wise Walls. Mrs. Brooker was a retired seamstress and attended Gateway Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Don Brooker Jr. and Robbie Brooker of Quitman, Dwayne Brooker Sr. and Angie Brooker of Valdosta, four grandchildren, Jessie Brooker, Brandon Brooker, Michael Brooker and Noah Brooker, one sister and brother in law, Sally Walls Bryant and Michael Bryant of Tallahassee, FL, two brothers and sisters in law, Bill Walls Sr. and Nancy Walls of Woonsockett, RI and Roger and Naomi Walls of West Palm Beach, FL, a brother in law, Davis Sykes of Bainbridge, brother in law and sister in law, William Ronald Brooker and Mary Brooker of Bradenton, FL, numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brooker is preceded in death by her husband, Don Brooker Sr., her parents, Eddie Walls Sr. and Mamie Wise Walls, an infant son, James Rodney Brooker, a brother, Eddie Walls Jr. and a sister, Linda Walls Sykes.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 3:30 p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Edgar Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p. m. until 3:30 p. m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
