Doris Carroll Mills

Doris Carroll Mills, 84, of Valdosta, died after a long illness on Monday, June 23, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on May 5, 1924, in Lowndes County, she was the daughter of the late W. W. and Irby Peterson Carroll. Mrs. Mills was associated with Carroll Packing Company and Heaney & Mills Real Estate. She was a member of Lake Park Christian Church.

She is survived by her sister, LouNelle Heaney of Valdosta; three nieces, Dodie Powers of Lake Park, Sugie Catikos and Ann Edwards, both of Valdosta; three nephews, Thad Heaney, Jimmy Carroll and Bo Carroll, all of Valdosta; and a wide extended family. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mills, and a brother, Jamie Carroll.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Aubrey Bussell, Dr. Steve Ward and Mr. Gerald Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in Copeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service.
