Donnie Hugh Allbritton

Donnie Hugh Allbritton passed away at the Langdale Hospice House surrounded by family on Friday, October 11, 2019. He was born on July 23, 1938, in Valdosta to the late Lee Alexander Allbritton and Sallie E. Hartline Allbritton. He married JoAnn Blanton on April 26, 1958, and subsequently had four children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was the owner of Allbritton Pest Control for 48 years. Before this, Donnie operated the Sportsman Club downtown. He was a deacon at Forrest Park Church of Christ for 42 years. He served as Regional Director for the Georgia Pest Control Association and on the Board of Directors for the Valdosta Touchdown Club. He was a fan of the Valdosta Wildcats for over 60 years and could be found selling gameday programs at the gates for over 20 years and cooking for the team any Tuesday night.
Donnie is survived by his wife- JoAnn, children – Denise Lahey (Jeremiah), Troylene Hart (Mike), Donna Davis (Jeff) and Jason Allbritton (Lois), grandchildren – Jaime Thornton, Alan (Kati) Mason, Kara (Jerrett) Rogers, Kristin (Jeff) Calvert, Karrie Beth (Nick Jones) Davis, Catherine Allbritton, Rachel Hart, Parker Allbritton, Michael Hart, Matthew Hart, Kaitlyn Allbritton, Britton Davis, and Brody Davis; great-grandchildren – Kaiden Mason, Everleigh Rogers, Makinleigh Rogers, Ella Kyle Calvert, and Tucker Calvert; brother – Bobby Dean (Geri) Allbritton and special niece Pam Brannen. He was preceded in death by brother, Willie Allbritton and sisters, Elvalena Chaney and Elouise Harman.
Visitation and viewing will be at Forrest Park Church of Christ on Monday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with the service immediately afterwards. Interment will follow at Dasher Cemetery.
