Donna May Winn Leonard

Donna May Winn Leonard, 84, of Valdosta, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. She was born on August 7, 1933 in Grand Island, Nebraska to the late Dillard Francis and Lois Mae Wilkie Winn. Donna took up woodworking in her 50’s and made furniture out of white pine. She had many hobbies including, crafts, sewing cloth books to donate, reading, dancing, and cooking. Donna was a true homemaker who took care of her husband Larry. She sang in several choirs throughout her life, lastly at Park Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a member. She also held season tickets to the VSU theatre and dance, Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, and the Dosta Playhouse.
Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years Larry Leonard of Valdosta, her sons, David Stuart Leonard (Jody) of Mississippi, and Joseph Scott Leonard of Scotland, and her daughter Lori Diane Leonard of Virginia, her grandchildren, Jilli, Eli, Lisa, Jessica, Eva, and David, and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Willie Beasley officiating. A private burial will follow.
