Donald L. Tippett

Donald L. Tippett, 81, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 following a short illness. He was born in Walhalla, South Carolina to the late Martin Tippett and Catherine King Tippett. Mr. Tippett worked in the shoe industry for 60 years, with a large majority of those years at Country Cobbler. He was married to Rebecca Starling Tippett for 57 years. He was a private person and his family was the upmost in his life, especially his grandchildren. He played golf in his younger years, and loved sports his teams were the Clemson Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons. He loved his pets.

Mr. Tippett is survived by his wife, Rebecca Tippett, of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher J. Tippett and Stacie Tippett, of Kissimmee, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Marcie Tippett-Morris and Scott Morris, of Newnan, GA; his grandchildren, Evelyn Tippett, Lillien Tippett, and Max Morris; his brother, Walter Tippett, of Charlotte, NC; sister, Phyllis Hammond, of Wilmington, NC; two nieces, Cynthia Astacio and Monica Grizzle, both of Charlotte, NC, and his beloved dog Maggie. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Nancy Tippett, Marsha Grizzle, and Henry Tippett.

A memorial service for Mr. Tippett will be held at 12noon on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11-12pm. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com Carson McLane Funeral Home
