Donald Guess

DONALD “DOODLE” GUESS, 71, of Morven died Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. He was born on March 31, 1934 in Morven to the late Allen Bartow and Phoebie Gunby Guess and was a lifelong resident of Morven. Mr. Guess was an industrial chemical salesman and a member of the Morven Church of Christ. He had served on the Morven City Council and the Morven Alumni Association.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Guess of Morven, two daughters and sons in law, Myra and Chris Exum of Morven and Melinda and James Williams of Wasilla, Alaska, four grandchildren, James Williams, Jr., Jessica Exum, Ashley Exum and Blake Exum, two sisters, Allie Webb of Hahira and Phoebie Slocum of Valdosta, one brother and sister in law, Billy and Mary Guess of Morven, sisters in law and brothers in law, Jan and Buddy Baker of Morven, Derry Howell of Hahira, Tommie Dickey of Lawrenceville and Elizabeth Daniel of Snellville and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, A. B. Guess, Jr. and two sisters, Roberta Coppage Horne and LaVerne Stephenson.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, May 1, 2005 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hall Cemetery.
