Donald Gary Lowery

Donald Gary Lowery, 63 of Valdosta died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his home. He was born in Valdosta on October 9, 1951 to the late William Thuddous and Alice Louise Wisenbaker Lowery and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a graduate of Lowndes County High School, and worked in the Oil Field. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Columbus, GA, enjoyed football and loved fishing.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter in law, Scott and Jennifer Lowery of Lakeland and Gary Lowery, Jr. (Susan Spivey) of Columbus , GA ; his three daughters and one son in law, Julie Lowery, Georgia Niemeyer and Emily and Michael Venable all of Dallas, TX; his seven granddaughters, Blaike Marie Lowery, Laney Fulgham Lowery, Emlee Rae Lowery, Sara Lowery, Maria Lowery, Mia Lowery, and Katie Venable; three grandsons, Bruce Niemeyer, Michael Venable and Charlie Venable, two brothers and sisters in law Danny Lamar and Margaret Lowery of Valdosta and Steve Wayne and Debra Lowery of Waverly Hall; one sister Sonia and Bo Knight of Thomaston, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Terry Merchant. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Ross Lowery and Rodney Dale Lowery and a sister Joan Bolen.
A funeral service will be held at twelve noon on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Stephen Lowery with burial to follow at Copeland Cemetery.
