Donald "Don" Grady Darby

Donald “Don” Grady Darby, 72, of Hahira passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Hahira on December 27, 1947 to the late Grady and Laurene Darby. Don was retired as an area engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion. Don enjoyed farming, fishing, traveling, grilling, cooking and sports, especially football. He loved to talk.
Don is survived by his wife, Debra M. Darby of Hahira, son and daughter in law, Randall Kirk and Mendy Darby of Navarre, FL, step son, Brack Ricks and step daughter, Roxanne Ricks of Hahira, grandchildren, Zack Darby, Karsyn Darby, Taylor Whitley, Hadden Ricks and Greyson Ricks, brother and sisters in law, Jon and Sherrell Darby of Hartsfield, GA and Sharon Darby of Hahira, nephews, Joshua Darby (Laura), Tanner Darby (Lauren) and niece, Beth Mayer (Jason). He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron Darby.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at eleven a. m. at the graveside at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Bob Ellis officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing rules and abide by CDC guidelines.
