Donald Austin Watson, 23, of Hahira died Thursday, July 27, 2017. He was born in Valdosta on May 25, 1994 and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a Baptist and a graduate of Lowndes High School. Austin was employed with The Scruggs Company. He was a loving, caring and thoughtful person who loved life to the fullest. Austin loved working on cars, spending time with his brothers at the river and making people laugh.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Heather and Justin Smock of Valdosta; his father and stepmother, Donnie and Heather Wrye of Valdosta; his sisters, Saylor Meeler of Nashville and Kamie Wrye of Valdosta; his brothers, Daniel Wrye and Gabe Carlo both of Valdosta; his step sister, Hannah Smock and his stepbrother, Aidan Smock both of Lakeland; his grandparents, Allen and Faye Watson of Hahira, Donald, Sr. and Kathy Wrye of Augusta, Cindy and Jim Ross of Hahira; an uncle, Scott Watson of Hahira; cousins, Breanna Watson and Reed Watson both of Hahira; his great grandmother, Betty Radney of Hahira; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Therese' Wyre, Allen Wrye of Macon, Verna and Walter Harmon of Valdosta, Franklin and Mary (Sutton) Mixon of Adel, Jack Watson of Hahira.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.
