Don F. Reames, 58, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Lakeland, Florida on May 3, 1946, to the late Louis R. & Mary Alice Reames, he had been a lifelong resident of this area. In 1964, he graduated from Valdosta High School and from Valdosta State University in 1968. He had served on the VSU Foundation, the Foundation of South Georgia Medical Center, the Foundation of Valdosta Technical College and The Boys Club of Valdosta. Mr. Reames was the President of Reames & Son Construction Company and Reames Concrete Company. He was a member of New Covenant Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Reames of Valdosta, two sons and a daughter in law, Jeff Reames, and Brad & Beth Reames, all of Valdosta, two grandchildren Analee Reames and Don Andrew Reames, both of Valdosta. Also surviving are a brother and sister in law, Phil & Janie Reames, of Atlanta, a sister and brother in law, Joan & Earl Blocker of Valdosta and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nan C. and Carl H. Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents and his parents in law, Robert & Doris Elder.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2005, at New Covenant Church. Pastor L. A. Joiner and Reverend Willie Flowers will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at New Covenant this evening, Thursday, February 10, 2005 from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Covenant Church, 3531 Bemis Road, Valdosta, GA 31605, or All Nations Deliverance Center, P.O.
