Dolores Mars Oorlog

Dolores Mars Oorlog, 92, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on January 28, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA to the late William and Dorothy Mars. Prior to her devotion to her true passion and dedication to raising her children, and thereafter loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mrs. Oorlog had served for many years as a telephone operator in the Miami area. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She enjoyed the beach (ironic in that she never learned to swim), black and white movies, music from her generation, sewing many homemade clothes, costumes, drapes and slip covers with tremendous skill and precision, cooking for her family (she always asked if she could make you something), a good book, Valdosta State University athletic events, shopping Amazon, and spending time with her loved ones—especially her grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased in 2018 by her loving husband of 63 years, Jonathan Oorlog, Sr. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Terry Sellman of New Port Richey, Florida and Linda and Herb Reinhard of Valdosta; her son, Jonathan Oorlog, Jr., of St. Petersburg, Florida; her grandchildren and their spouses, Herb and Deanna Reinhard of Knoxville, Tennessee, Rebecca Reinhard of Atlanta, Georgia, Jon Oorlog of Tampa, Florida, Katie and Daniel Selvia of Oviedo, Florida, and Erica and David Diggle of New Port Richey, Florida; her great-grandchildren, David John Diggle, Jr., Adalyn Leigh Reinhard, Lyndi Elizabeth Reinhard, and Lillie Belle Selvia.
