Mrs. Dollie Abrigo, 74, of Valdosta died on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was born in Whigham, GA. to the late Willie Green and Ruby Barfield Lodge and has been a Valdosta resident for the past 45 years. She was a retired administrative assistant for the College of Arts and Sciences for Valdosta State University and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Donnie Collins of Cuthbert, and David Collins of Valdosta; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, John and O’dell Lodge of Thomasville, a sister, Juanita Perkins of Lakeland, Fl., brother, Lonnie Lodge of Pelham, sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Ken Gammon of Lakeland, Fl., Pat and Ed Garrett of Thomasville, brother, Dewight Lodge and a sister and brother-in-law, Ouida and Frank Huber all of Whigham, and brother Don Lodge of Cairo; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Abrigo was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Abrigo; a son, Dennis Collins; two brothers, LaVaughn and Dewitt Lodge; and a sister, Lacey Mayon.
Services for Mrs. Dollie Abrigo will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
