Dilia Mckenzie Evans

Funeral services for Dilia McKenzie Evans, 82, of Valdosta, who died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness, will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Reverend Eric J. Evans and Reverend Derrick G. Evans will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 p.m. until service time.
Mrs. Evans was born in Kingstree, South Carolina on July 20, 1930. A longtime resident of Valdosta, she was a homemaker and a Baptist. Widow of the late Paul Evans, survivors include a daughter, Dale R. Evans Brown and her husband Jimmie of Crescent City, Florida; two sons, Wayne Evans of Valdosta, Ray Evans and his wife Donna of Cartersville; a son in law, Tony Elkins of Valdosta; grandchildren, Sandra and Robert White of Semi Valley, California, Elena and Lloyd Wolfkill, Jimmie E. Brown, Jr., Kelly and Miguel Montes, Lindsay G. Brown and Fiancee Beto all of Crescent City, Florida; Lucretia and Terry Dorminey, Michelle and Shane Hare, Nick and Mary Carter all of Valdosta; Derrick and Kim Evans, Eric and Maria Evans of Taylorsville, Randall Elkins of Valdosta and Jessica and Jessie DeMotta of Panama City, Florida; twenty two great grandchildren and a special friend, James Monroe. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Paulette Carter and Diane Elkins and a son, Roy Evans.
