Diane Stalvey

Diane Parker Stalvey, 71, of Hahira died Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 28, 1950 in Hahira to the late Eugene and Nellie Mae Vickers Parker and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mrs. Stalvey was a member of Hahira United Methodist Church and had served as pianist for three different churches in the area. She was an honor graduate of Lowndes High School and a member of the Beta Club. Diane had worked as a bookkeeper for twenty years in the Farm Feed and Seed business owned by her husband and as a receptionist and pianist for Sumner Funeral Home. Diane was a good mother to her sons and was involved in the Special Education Programs at Lowndes High School, LARC and Valdosta State University due to her having a son who was in the Special Education Program. Son Jeff was RVT Student of the Year for the State of Georgia due to Diane’s involvement and efforts in Special Education Programs.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Raymond Stalvey, Jr.; her daughter in law, Mandy Hewett Stalvey all of Hahira; her sisters and brothers in law, Joyce and B. J. Tomlinson of Hahira, Paulette and Dave Bearden of Morven, Hugh Etheridge of Hahira; sisters in law and brothers in law, Brenda and Tom Weldon of Maryland, Dwight and Karen Stalvey of Valdosta, Wayne Stalvey and Kathy Mauldin of Hahira; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her three sons, Blake Stalvey, Jeff Stalvey, Infant Boy Stalvey, her parents, Gene and Nellie Parker, a sister, Shirley Etheridge, parents in law, Raymond, Sr. and Mary Ellen Stalvey.
Services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, October 31, 2021 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with burial follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service from 1-2pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Boys Ranch in Hahira.
