Diane Marie Abbott, 49, of Lake Park died on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 2, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a resident of this area since 1989. She worked in the food service industry as a prep cook for many years having most recently worked for the Bleu Café in downtown Valdosta. Diane was a huge animal lover and enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Abbott of Lake Park; a sister, Regina Ann Blake of Lake Park; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald and Rebecca Minichello and Richard Ross Minichello all of Eden, North Carolina; sisters and brother-in-law, Angela and Jay Price of Martinsville, Virginia and Annette Minichello and her daughter Harley of Eden, North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Romeo and Stacie Minichello of Eden, North Carolina and her father, Richard Anthony Minichello also of Eden, North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlene Martino Minichello.

A memorial service for Diane Marie Abbott will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Christ the King Episcopal Church with Rev. Stan White officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
