Denise Pauline Carter, 77, of Lanett, Alabama, died on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Arbor Springs Rehab in Opelika, Alabama, following a period of declining health. She was born on March 27, 1946, in Shouldham Thorpe, Norfolk County, England to the late Dennis Wilfred and Dorothy Selina Allen Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Denise’s life was devoted to serving her family, raising her children, and watching after and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and was known to have the ability to grow almost anything.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Carter of Lanett, Alabama, David and Elise Carter of Snellville, Georgia, Duane and Traci Carter of Palm Coast, Florida, Dean Carter and his fiancée, Hilarie Noles of Roanoke, Alabama; her grandchildren, Christopher Carter, Kayley Carter, Tristen Carter, Stephanie Carter, Ashlynn Carter, Rebekah Carter, Erin Carter, Caty Carter, Victoria Carter, Jennifer Carter, Kinsley Carter, Ashley Distler, and Avery Distler; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Colin Smith and Jennifer and Gordon Reid all of England; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and David Mathis of Valdosta. She was preceded by her husband, Daniel Lavin “Danny” Carter; two brothers, John Moore and Malcom Moore.
Services for Denise Pauline Carter will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Pavilion. The burial will follow the service.
