Della Mae Hiers

Della Mae Hiers, 90, of Adel, died on Friday, December 10, 2004, at Adel Memorial Hospital. Born in Valdosta on January 7, 1915, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Rossie Mae Treadwell Sweat. She was a homemaker, a member of First Church of The Nazarene and a former member of T.O.P.S.

Survivors are her daughter and son in law, Vonnie and Bob Godbold of Lake City, Florida, sons and daughters in law, Charles and Sandra Roberts, Eugene and Linda Roberts of Quitman, Bernice Roberts of Valdosta, Joseph Phillip and Charlotte Hiers of Blairsville, GA, Herbert and Cindy Hiers of Live Oak, Fla., John and Martha Hiers of Lakeland, GA., 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Hiers, and sons, Jim Roberts and Ralph Hiers and a grandson, David Roberts and a sister, Lorene Strickland.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Barden will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
