Delina Caldwell Clements

October 4, 1943 — January 23, 2016

Delina Caldwell Clements, 72, of Valdosta passed away surrounded by her family on January 23, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born October 4, 1943 in Royston, GA to the late Allen Tribble Caldwell and Mary Stewart Brown Barnes. Mrs. Clements attended Brenau Women's College in Gainesville, GA and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Speech Therapy. She was employed in several school systems as a speech therapist for special needs children until her retirement.
Among her many interests and talents, Mrs. Clements especially enjoyed music, theater, and museums. She was passionate about the Olympics and Georgia Bulldog football. During her lifetime, she enjoyed travelling to many places in the United States and abroad, her favorite places being England and the North Georgia mountains. The most important aspect of her life was her family whom she loved and supported, especially her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Clements is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rena and Mike "Nub" Nelson of Valdosta; Alexa and Chris Finke of Roswell, GA; her three grandchildren, John Wesley Nelson, Lila Finke, and Duncan Finke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stewart Wesley and Ann Caldwell of Marietta, GA, Tribble and Jennie Caldwell of Greenville, SC; brother-in-law, Gordon Zeese of Albany, GA; nieces, Caroline and Mary Stewart; nephews, Robert and Rush Baker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Fred Nelson Clements; her step-father, Burt Barnes; her sister, Susan Zeese.

A Memorial service for Delina Caldwell Clements will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Royston, GA at First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA.
