Del (Mac) Allen, Sr.

Del (Mac) Allen, Sr., 80, of Lake Park, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at his home after a short illness.

He was born May 7, 1935, in Blackshear, a son of the late Andrew (Hotch) and Dora Robinson Allen. Mr. Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, loved the outdoors and buggy rides.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Karen K. Allen; two sons, Del Allen, Jr. (Julie), and Andy Allen (Amy); one daughter, Kay Whitehead (Rudy), all of Lake Park; five grandchildren, Garrett Allen (Cari) of Gainesville, FL, Kelsie Allen of Lake Park, A.J. Allen of Atlanta, Katie Whitehead of Lake Park, and Tripp Whitehead (Loria) of Valdosta; three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Gavin and Brody Whitehead; two sisters, Dot Ramos of Pinetta, FL, and Martha Herrin (Leon) of Waycross; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

The funeral service for Mr. Allen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, with Mr. Justin Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
