Debra Ann Akridge Davis, 64, of Valdosta died on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on July 10, 1952 in San Diego, California to the late Buford and Ernestine Griffin Akridge. She attended Valdosta State University and was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Debra also served in the Navy Reserves. Debra worked as a legal secretary for the State of Florida in the Attorney General's office and thereafter with other legal entities and law firms in Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas. She ended her career at VSU working for the VSU Foundation and as a sports/hostess coordinator. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her son, Sean Davis of Valdosta; her sister, Susan Holland of Valdosta; her aunt, Vicki Appler of Reading, Pennsylvania; cousins, Jean McRae of Valdosta, Tracy Ryder of Tallahassee, Florida, along with numerous other cousins and relatives.. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mrs. N.T. Peeples; a brother, James Edward Adkridge and a brother-in-law, Charles H. Holland.
Services for Debra Ann Akridge Davis will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow in Campground Cemetery in Morven.
