Debora K. Chaney, 64, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in Nashville, GA following a short illness. Debora was born in La Porte, IN on November 6, 1953 to the late Albert Thomas Evans, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Collins Evans. Debora worked as a seamstress for Regal Marine for 15 years. She was a wonderful mother, Nana, and put everyone’s needs before her own. She enjoyed going to the beach and was a very hard worker. She was an anchor for her family. Debora was a member of About My Father’s Ministry.
Debora is survived by her daughters Misty (Josh) McClanahan of Naylor, and Crystal Chaney of Valdosta; her four grandchildren Johnny Johnson, III, of Valdosta, Gracie Delk, of Stockton, Troy Delk, of Valdosta, Landon Evan Delk, of Stockton; her mother Mary Evans, of Valdosta; her sister Shellie (Harold) McLeod, of Lake Park; her brother Tom Evans, Jr., of Lake City; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins. Debora is preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Nikki Chaney, her brother Billy Evans, and the father of her children John Wayne Chaney.
A funeral service for Debora will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 3 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Crumley officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
