Debbie Mims Adams, 64, of Valdosta, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016, at her home after a courageous fifteen year battle; she never gave up.
She was born April 8, 1951 in Savannah and graduated from Savannah High School with the Class of 1969. Following graduation, she was united in marriage with Steve Adams, together they have two sons and a granddaughter. Debbie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she was honest dependable, gentle, kind and had the biggest heart.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Steve Adams of Valdosta; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike Adams of Naylor, and Travis and Crystal Adams of Senoia; her granddaughter, Maddy Adams of Senoia; a brother and sister-in-law, Skeet and Kris Mims of St. Charles, MO; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ava and Grant Wofford of Marthasville, MO, and Greg and Anna Adams of Tampa, FL; an aunt; various nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Susan Stinson Risler and husband Ed Risler of Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Mims and Dorothy McNeeley Margone; a brother, John Mims; and her step-father, Elliott Margone.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Adams will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Gerry Russo officiating. Interment will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cecil. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
