Debbie Lynne West

Debbie Lynne West, 47 of Valdosta, died on Friday, February 18, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 20, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan.

Debbie worked in the food service business most of her life. She was an avid sports fan, especially of NFL football and NHRA Drag racing. She enjoyed camping and was fond of Elvis Presley music. Debbie maintained a very hopeful and optimistic outlook throughout the course of her treatment. She was an inspiration for her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Hugh H. West, Jr. and stepchildren, Richard, Rachel and Lauren West and Zane Carter all of Valdosta; father and stepmother, Arthur and Brenda Chase of Cookeville, TN; mother, Catherine Chase and brothers, Keith Chase and Rick Marra all of Gastonia, NC and brother, Brian Chase of Carthage, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ardith and Scott McNew of Monroe, Michigan, Diane and Marc Mathies of Edgemoor, SC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugh H. and Jerry West, brothers-in-law, Guy Bryant, Robert (Kathy) Bryant and Jeff (Elizabeth) West all of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Amanda (Andy) Wierling of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Cameo Grier.



Debbie will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend John McGowan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Georgia Medical Center, Pearlman Cancer Center, P.O. Box 1727, Valdosta, GA 31603.
