Dawn Renee Cothron Jackson

Dawn Renee Cothron Jackson, 54, of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her residence after a courageously fought battle of ALS. She was born on April 30, 1963 in Valdosta. Renee was office manager at Astro Exterminating Services for eighteen years. She was a member of Redland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was children’s choir director.
She is survived by her husband of thirty four years, Tommy Jackson of Valdosta, her mother, Maxine Coody Cothron of Valdosta, two daughters, Kayla McCurdy (Blake) of Lake Park and Keeli Jackson of Valdosta, two grandsons, Ryder McCurdy and Easton Greene, three sisters, JoAn Mathis of Dasher, Patsy Stewart (Gene) and Becky Sims, sister in law, Karen Cothron of Valdosta, mother in law, LaVerne Jackson, sisters in law and brothers in law, Ellen and Roger Sims, Stephanie and Robert Simmons all of Valdosta, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Kim, Laura and Addy Perlman. Renee is preceded in death by her father, James Madison Cothron, her brother, Alan Cothron, brother in law, Joel Mathis and father in law, Wade Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at eleven a. m. at Redland Baptist Church with Reverend Jay Watkins and Reverend Jim Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Redland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
