David Wayne Cowart, Sr.

David Wayne Cowart, Sr., 62, of Quitman died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 12, 1953 in Valdosta to the late William Franklin and Carolyn Mikell Cowart. Mr. Cowart was a Baptist and owned and operated Cowart Pest Control and Termite Litigation. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, his dog, playing golf and the Valdosta High School Wildcats. Mr. Cowart enjoyed people and was a well rounded person.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Martha Cowart of Quitman; his four children and their spouses, Tracy and Michael Alligood of Leesburg, GA, Stephanie and Fabian Mata of Houston, TX, Mandy and Andy Johnson of Lake Park, GA, and David and Kimberly Cowart of Sunbright, TN ; his grandchildren, Carley Turner, Christopher Grace, Diana Mata, Cameron Grace, twin granddaughters, Brittany and Kaitlyn Turner, Destiny Cowart, Alayna Mata, David Cowart, III, Sebastian Mata; beloved dog, Pearson; brother and sister in law, Bill and Kristine Watson of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his brother, William (Billy) Cowart and his grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Willis officiating. A private burial will be held at the Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
