David Michael West, Sr., 66, of Hahira died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Pavo on December 13, 1953 to the late Wilbur B. and LaRue Jordan West and had lived in Hahira most of his life. David was a member of Northside Baptist Church, was retired from Winn Dixie after thirty-five years of service and after ten years as a sales representative with Frito-Lay. He enjoyed working in his yard, swimming and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Penny West of Hahira; son and daughter in law, Mike and Heather West of Hahira; daughter and son in law, Resa and Wayne Davis of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Ashlyn West, Kalyn West, Jackson West, Hannah Davis, Noah Davis; his great grandchild, Ryder Williams; a brother, Ralph West of South Carolina; two sisters and a brother in law, Dona and Edwin Phillips of Ashburn, GA, Karen and David Williams of Hahira; two sisters in law, Susie West of Orlando, FL and Sandy West of Ray City, GA. He is preceded in death by brothers, Byron West, Gerald West, Kenneth West, Johnny West, Tommy West and a sister, Diane West Sawyer.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery in Cecil. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Our Legacy Fund, 200 E. Park Ave., Valdosta, GA 31602.
