David Leslie Herron, 66, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Moultrie following a lengthy illness. He was born on January 14, 1955, in Norfolk Virginia to the late James Leslie and Lorraine May Roseman Herron. Mr. Herron served in the United States Air Force for 24 years and retired as Master Sergeant and was a civil engineer. Following retirement from the Air Force, he began his career with the City of Valdosta and retired as a construction inspector. Mr. Herron was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (InNam-Chong) Herron of Valdosta; a son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Christine Herron of Tifton; his grandson, Elias Benjamin Herron of Tifton; a brother, James W. Herron and a niece, Loranne Herron. Mr. Herron was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin James Herron.
Services for David Herron will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jason Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. A rosary will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, with a visitation to follow the rosary service until 6 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
