David Joseph (Joe) Griffin, Sr.

David Joseph (Joe) Griffin, Sr., 62, of Valdosta passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at his home. He was born in Valdosta, GA on May 24, 1957 to the late David Ray and Juanita Tyler Griffin. He had worked in the construction and woodworking industry most of his life. He loved his family and watching the Georgia Bulldogs play. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Gregory Beale, as well as the staff of Hospice of South Georgia.
Survivors include his wife Kathy Griffin, two sons and daughters in law, David, Jr. and Casie Griffin, Clint and Amanda Griffin, all of Valdosta; seven grandchildren, Heather Griffin, Haley Griffin, Hope Griffin, David Griffin, III, Matthew Griffin, Hayden Griffin, and Hallie Griffin, all of Valdosta; four nieces Michelle Adkins, Monica Starling, Jessica O’Neal, all of Valdosta, and Valerie Taylor of Bossier City, LA; two brothers in law, Tom Wright, and Laverne McGill, of Valdosta; two aunts Rebecca Tyler, of Valdosta, and Ruth Stalvey of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Gloria Wright, Vianne McGill, and Diane Griffin.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
