David Howell

David Howell, 54 of Ft. Worth, Texas, formerly of Valdosta, Georgia, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth. He was born on October 3, 1950 in Valdosta, Georgia. Mr. Howell graduated from Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland and earned a degree in Computer Science from Valdosta State University. He received his Masters Degree in Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth and previously served as Music Director at First United Methodist Church in Hahira, Georgia. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are his parents, Rudy and Myrtis Howell of Valdosta, Georgia; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Rob Nordan of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Leonard R. Howell III of Tallahassee, Florida; Paul M. Howell of Atlanta, Georgia and a wide extended family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rudolph and Lily Howell and maternal grandparents, J. D. Avera and Minnie McCranie.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Phil West and Reverend Rob Nordan officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the chapel.
