David Franklin Long, Jr, 55, of Statenville, died at his home on Monday, January 4, 2021. David was born in Valdosta, on July 17, 1964, son of David Sr. and Janice Enid Jones Long. He was a member of Enoch Creek Church and enjoyed fellowship with church family and friends. He loved his family, and was a devoted son to his mother and a devoted father to his son. An avid sports fan, he followed the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Falcons and the Braves. David drove a truck for Winsupply House and enjoyed fishing when he had the time.
Survivors are his son, Devan Lucas Long and his fiancé, Daiquiri Lofton of Fargo; his mother, Janice Enid Long of Statenville; brothers, Reverend Walter Long of Milton, Florida, Nick (Jennifer) Long of Lake Park; aunt, Phyllis Mathis of Hahira. He was preceded in death by his father, David Franklin Long, Sr., and his grandmother, Roma Jones.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Enoch Creek Church. Brother Zack Corbett and Brother Mickey Corbett will officiate. Burial followed at Statenville Cemetery.
