David Culpepper

David Culpepper, 61, of Jasper, FL, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his residence. Born on April 10, 1963, to the late Billy & Evelyn Combass Culpepper, he grew up in Valdosta and graduated from Lowndes High School in 1981. While at Lowndes, he was a member of the Georgia Bridgemen Band. He then attended Valdosta Technical College (Now Wiregrass) and studied welding. He soon started work at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Clyattville. In his over 42-year career at PCA, he worked numerous jobs in the Wood Yard and the Pulp Mill. David’s favorite thing was to manage his pine trees on his pine plantation. For this he had been honored by the Florida Forest Service for his exceptional forest management practices and he participated in the Forest Stewardship Program. 

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Chad & Paige Culpepper of Valdosta, a son Lance Culpepper; a sister and brother in law, Allison & Shiloh Craven of Jacksonville, a brother Donald Culpepper of Lake Park; three step daughters and many other family members and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Carter Cemetery. Pastor Daryl Pate will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
