David Alan Brown, 67, of Valdosta, formerly of Columbus, Georgia, died on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Langdale Hospice House. Born on February 07, 1954, he was the son of the late Chester Donald Brown and Mildred Jane Skinner Brown. He attended church at Park Avenue United Methodist, and he enjoyed fishing and camping. David was a huge supporter of Boy Scouts and was an assistant Scout Master for many years. He was a Civil War History scholar and was active with the Muscogee County Republican Party. He also supported and volunteered with the south west Georgia region of Fishers of Men. An avid sports fan, he cheered for the Braves and the Seminoles. David was a family man who loved time spent with his son and grandchildren. He served as an ordinance technician in the U.S. Army for 8 years and was employed in finance until his retirement.
Preceded in death by his parents, David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy Loftin Brown; a son, Benjamin Alan (Lauren) Brown; grandchildren, Alice Elizabeth Brown, and Loftin Alan Brown all of Valdosta; a brother, Donald H. Brown of Washington, New Jersey.
Services and entombment will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Reverend Jimmy Towson will officiate. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Brown family.
