Dave Huffman

Dave Huffman, 61, of Hahira, GA unexpectedly passed away, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born on November 16, 1955 in Lackawana, New York to the late Thomas Huffman and the late Sarajane Fitzsimons Beach. He proudly served his country in the US Army for 22 years. His final military years were served with the 160th SOAR of Ft. Campbell, KY. Upon his retirement from the military he became a preacher and teacher of the Gospel. His first preaching job took him to Geneseo, IL, which was followed by a job that brought him to Lakeland, GA. Other jobs followed, including being a teacher at Georgia Christian School in Dasher, GA. His final job brought him to the Forrest Park Church of Christ as a missionary. He worked with the Children's Home in the country of Panama, which was the start of a great love and passion for the children there.

In addition to his love of the children and preaching the gospel, he also had a passion for the Toastmasters International Club. He was a member of the Valdosta Toasts, Club #1009828, where he served in several areas of leadership during his years with them.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Sharon Huffman; their son David T. Huffman, and daughter and son-in-law Natalia and Jesse Holmes; granddaughter Emmalyn Holmes; and his sister Dianne Falk. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step father Charles Beach.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 12 p.m. at the Forrest Park Church of Christ officiated by Bro. Wesley Hazel. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. till service time.
