Darrnell Christine Smith

Christine Musick Smith, also known as, Darrnell C. Smith and affectionately known as Chrissy and Mema, 82, of Hahira, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Shand's Hospital in Gainesville, FL. She was born and raised in Combs Valley, VA to the late William Kermit Musick and Carrie Belle Taylor Musick. Mrs. Smith was a sales clerk at Chancy's Drug Store and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking for her family, fishing, gardening, returning to the mountains where she was raised and rides in the country.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry O. Smith of Hahira, two daughters and one son in law, Tammy Smith of Hahira and Terry and Greg Black of Valdosta, three grandchildren, Bucky Ogletree of Nashville, GA, Josh Black and Carrie Black of Valdosta, two great grandchildren, Ben Ogletree and Aidan Ogletree, two sisters, Betty Price of Manlius, NY and Grace Shockley of Bluefield, West Virginia, her sister in law, Julie Musick of Hiwassee, VA, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Leilani Futch and Deborah Tucker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Musick and Raymond Musick.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Elder Jim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
