Darlene Hendricks Thrasher

Darlene Hendricks Thrasher, 56, of Ooltewah, Tennessee and formerly of Valdosta died on Monday, November 23, 2015 following a sudden illness at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born on October 3, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Willie C. and Hazel Barber Hendricks. Darlene was employed in the early 80's with South Georgia Medical Center where she served as a nurse's aide and ran a private day care service. She was a member of Ware Branch Church of Christ in Birchwood, Tennessee. Darlene was a loving and caring person and loved to talk on the phone. It is said that this was her favorite thing to do because it kept her in touch with numerous friends and loved-ones that she cared for so much.

Survivors include a special aunt, Eunie Hendricks of Valdosta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pattie and Joe Saylor of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Gayle and Damon Hodges of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Hendricks of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Bret and Lynette Hendricks of Lake Park, Georgia, Eric and Linda Hendricks of Valdosta, and Chet and Anastasia Hendricks of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Brandy and Jason Price of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Stephanie Hendricks and Travis Hartman also of Chattanooga, Michelle and Santi Iturralde of Valdosta, Erica and Mike Blalock of Valdosta, Justin Hendricks of Valdosta; a special care-giver, Cindy Wofford of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by a special uncle, Lassie Hendricks and her parents Willie and Hazel Hendricks.

Services for Darlene Hendricks Thrasher will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Bruce Barwick officiating. The burial will follow in the Redland Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
