Danny B. Moss, 55, of Valdosta died suddenly on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Born in Dickson, TN, Danny moved to Valdosta and attended then graduated from Lowndes High School in the mid 1970's. There he participated in the Math Club and DECA Club. Early on, Danny enjoyed auto racing at Thunderbowl Speedway. He also trained in Karate under the late Bobby Yates. In the early 80's, Danny began work at the company that would eventually become TM Poly-Film. He worked there and helped to develop that company in many different ways for over thirty years. For many years he has worked as the Plant Manager. Danny loved the game of golf, having learned the game from his grandfather, the late C. B. Coble, and it continues to be a favorite family activity. He also enjoyed many other activities with his family including cooking, eating, watching sports on TV and watching Katie sing karaoke, he was her greatest fan.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Cowart Moss, of Valdosta; two sons and daughters in law, Travis & Meagan Moss of Thomasville, Brent & Kirsten Moss of Lake Park; a daughter, Katie Moss and another son, Justin Cowart, both of Valdosta; a brother, Frankie Moss of Valdosta; two sisters and brothers in law, Christie & Stanley Cline (his long time best friend) of Valdosta, April & Colin Riggs-Stites of Tallahassee and his mother and step father, Sara & Alan Canup of Valdosta. Also surviving is his special grandchild Cason Moss, nieces and nephews, Sarah Cline of Valdosta, Heather Maria Moss of Louisville, KY, Gregory Gay and Brittany Gay, both of Valdosta; brother in law and his wife, Greg & Sam Gay of Valdosta; mother in law, Linda D. Gay of Valdosta; and many special friends at TM Poly-Film, the Valdosta Country Club, and "the Backyard Crew".
The funeral for Danny will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Dr. Ken Alford will officiate. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Georgia Christian School, 4359 Dasher Rd.
