Dana Schroer Harris

Dana Schroer Harris, 45, of Valdosta, died at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Dana was born at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi on March 18, 1964. She was a 1982 graduate of Valdosta High School and received her Marketing Degree from Valdosta State University. She had worked in Pharmaceutical Sales for Ortho/McNeal and Johnson and Johnson. Dana had been a member of the Jr. Woman's Club and was a member of Central Church of Christ. An excellent musician, she played classical guitar. She was an artist and enjoyed oil painting and photography. Her home was adorned with pictures of family and friends. She was an avid Bunko player; she loved animals and pets, nature, and growing flowers and plants. Dana was a hospitable neighbor.

Survivors are her husband, Tim O. Harris of Valdosta; daughters, Chloe Harris and Ivey Harris of Valdosta; her father and step mother, Al and Peggy Schroer of Poinciana, Florida; her mother, Gail Reaves of Mississippi; sister, Nikki Schroer of Valdosta, grandmother, Mattie Lucinda Schroer of Marietta; aunt, Margie Dasher of Valdosta, uncles and an aunt, Billy and Betty Schroer of Marietta, Bob Schroer of Valdosta; several cousins and other relatives. Dana was preceded in death by her grandfather, Albert Schroer, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. John Klimko will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation, PO Box 1727, Valdosta, GA., 31603 or to Central Avenue Church of Christ, 304 E.
