Cynthia Ann Owens

July 3, 1956 — October 18, 2021

Cynthia Ann Owens, 65, of Valdosta, died at Fellowship Home on Monday, October 18, 2021. Born in Valdosta on July 3, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Virginia Love Killgore. Cynthia worked as an insurance agent with Holwell and Fletcher Insurance in Quitman for over 30 years. She enjoyed photography and the beach. A television fanatic, Cynthia especially enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. She was an Eagles fan and loved attending their concerts. Nicholas Sparks was her favorite author and she dearly loved reading his novels.
Survivors are her children, son, Zac Owens of Valdosta, daughter, Virginia “Ginny” Reed of St. Petersburg, Florida, son, Blake Allen Reed of Valdosta; one brother, Danny, and Kathy Killgore, sister, Bonnie, and Steve Richardson all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Abigail Reed, Jackson Reed of Valdosta, Barron Blackshear, III of Vidalia; two nephews and one niece.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Brother Tommy Bussey will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the fund for Cynthia’s grandchildren in care of Dennis Rushing.
