Curtis Harold Bass, 65 of Valdosta, GA died on Thursday, May 03, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in 1941 in Prentiss, Jeff Davis County, MS, he was the son of the late Curtis and Macy Jackson Bass. He was the owner and operator of Bass Auto Service and Georgia Fried Chicken Restaurant. Curtis was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling to the beach and the mountains.
Survivors are his wife, Joanne Faircloth Bass of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Joy Bass, Ken and Lisa Bass all of Valdosta, Michael and Pollyanna Bass of Pavo, GA, Tony and Heather Bass of Valdosta; grandchildren, Brianna, Noah, Megan and Paige; sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Billy Ballard of Panama City, FL; mother-in-law, Margaret Faircloth of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Lee Taylor of Valdosta; aunts, Ruth Cole of Prentiss, MS and Golda and Loy Fortenberry of Columbia, MS. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Margaret Bass and his brother, Buddy Bass.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2007 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Scarbrough officiating.
