Craig Stephen English

Craig Stephen English, 55, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 19, 2011.

Craig was born April 30, 1956 in Macon, a son of Jimmy and Shirley Adams English. He was raised in Valdosta, graduated from Lowndes County High School and attended Valdosta State College. For seven years he was employed in Key Account Sales at Suncoast RV, Lake Park.

He was a member of Clyattville First United Methodist Church. Craig was most known for his honorable and trustworthy character; virtues that will surely be missed by all who knew and depended on him. He was family-oriented and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a special gift for do-it-yourself projects that he used to the benefit of all who knew him. In addition, he was an avid car enthusiast, loved music and playing his drums.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen M. and Ruty English of Ft. Payne, AL, and Justin C. and Nicole English of Valdosta; one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley F. and Milton Thornton of Valdosta; seven grandchildren, Justin, April, Wyatt, Eric, Helen, Persephone and Autumn Cheyenne; his parents, Jimmy and Shirley English of Valdosta; three sisters, Lisa Serrano of Atlanta, Tracy Evans of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Kelly English of Atlanta; three brothers, Chris English and wife Sara of Saline, MI, Corey English and wife Kim of Atlanta, and Colby English and wife Stephanie of Atlanta; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-two years, Marcella "Lou" Clara English on December 2, 2010; a sister, Marcia Elaine English; and a very special uncle, David Adams.

Funeral Services for Mr. English will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011, in the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Skip Van Nus officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
