Craig A. Barnes

Craig Albert Barnes, 71, of Valdosta, died on Monday, November 1, 2004 at his home. Born in Haddonfield, New Jersey on December 29, 1932, he graduated with honors and 1st in his class from the Univeristy of Connecticut. Mr. Barnes was retired CEO of South Georgia Medical Center. He was past president of the Georgia Hospital Association and held memberships with the Valdosta Lowndes County Humane Society, the American Legion and the Blazer Athletic Boosters. Mr. Barnes was an Episcopalian.

Survivors are his wife, Rebecca Barnes of Valdosta; daughter and son in law, Reese and John Green of Valdosta; grandchildren, John Riccio Green, Marianne Green and Catherine Green all of Valdosta; mother and father in law, John and Edna Byrd of Clyattville, brother in law, Bobby Byrd of Valdosta.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Very Right Reverend Stan White will officiate.
