Coye Dell Coody Hooker

COYE DELL COODY HOOKER, 92, of Valdosta, and recently of Ray City, passed away Monday, August 25, 2008. She was born on February 24, 1916 in Clyattville to the late James Barney Coody, Sr. and Annie Lou Zipperer Coody. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Ernest (R.E.) Hooker, Sr.

Mrs. Hooker was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church. She had been employed at Lowndes Co. Dept. of Family and Children's Services, and prior to that at Moody Air Force Base.

She is survived by her children, Floyd M. (Gene) and wife Bobbi Ann Coody of Valdosta, Lauralene and husband Ray Kennedy of Southwick, MA, Patsy Cowart, Susan Higginbotham and Archie Hooker of Valdosta, Vicki H. Easter Combass and the late Paul K. Easter, Sr. of Valdosta, and Timothy Hooker and the late Tammy E. Hooker of Macon; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Jewell Brown Galarneau of Valdosta; many nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Marie Coody Pitchford of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Rae Hooker of Lee, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Turner and Carolyn Hooker of Valdosta; and special family friends, Wilfred and Janice Cloutier of Durham, ME. She was predeceased by a son, Roy Ernest (Robert) Hooker, Jr.; brothers, J.B., A.C., W.B. and E.P. Coody; and a sister, Ora Lee Barfield.

Services will be held at 4 pm Friday, August 29, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
